the liar show
Launched in 2006, Andy Christie’s The Liar Show is a long-running staple in New York’s storytelling scene, with a 12-year residency at the landmark Greenwich Village club, Cornelia Street Café, where a New York Times reviewer raved, “They can lie to me all night long.” It’s appeared at The Kennedy Center, has toured across North America, and was called “A Winner! 4 stars!” by The Scotsman at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
How it works:
• THE STORIES– Four writers and comedians take the stage to tell short, personal, funny stories—but one of them is making it all up.
• THE INTERROGATION – After the stories, the performers return to the stage and the audience pelts them with probing questions to smoke out the Liar during no-holds-barred Q&A session.
• THE VERDICT– Audience members vote and the Liar is exposed in a video reveal. If you guess correctly, you win the unbelievable “I Can Tell A Lie” T‑shirt. But as the Washington Post said of our show, “Prizes mean nothing compared with the sweet victory of being recognized as the savviest people in the room.” If you’re wrong, well, they don’t call it “sweet victory” for nothing.
In short, The Liar Show is part comedy show, part storytelling night, and part audience detective challenge. If you're into gut-busting stories and a chance to flex your inner BS detector, it’s a must-see experience—and Andy Christie is the playful, seasoned guide leading you through it.
