Cuckoos Open Mic is a variety mic every Wednesday at SoHo Playhouse. Singers, song writers, comedians, magicians, burlesque, poetry, cabaret performers, performance artists and more. Each performer is given 7 minutes to do whatever they want as long as it doesn’t involve fire or glitter. There is a $5 cover. The doors and sign up are 9:30 and the show starts at 10pm the goes late. The show also has a featured act in the middle who does half an hour. Follow on insta @cuckoos_openmic for more info.

The Thursday Night Mic At The SoHo Playhouse is a weekly mic every Thursday and might just be the latest game in town. Doors are at 10:30pm, with the mic starting at 11pm, with some exceptions depending on the theater’s show schedule. Direct Message the host Matt Tanzosh at @matt_scribble on instagram for any inquiries. All types of performances are welcome, but the focus of this open mic is generally standup comedy. The list goes out at 9pm, and performers can do 5 minutes for free, 6 minutes if they buy a drink at the bar, and 7 minutes if they buy two drinks or a drink that costs $10 or more. Comics that stay until the end are invited to participate in a lightning round, where performers are given a topic and 1 minute to riff from the previous performer on stage. Come hang out! Women and children board first (but don’t bring your actual chidren)! Lifeboat Mic is a gender-inclusive mic centering women comics, poets, and musicians. If you’re tired of being the only woman in a dark room full of strangers, get off the ship with us! First 5 minutes are free, 7 minutes with purchase of a drink from our brilliant bartender, Willow! All genders are welcome; non-men are prioritized.
