About this Performance

Ethan & Gigi Present: THE MOVEMENT returns after selling out Edinburgh Fringe. Winners of a Besties Award and shortlisted for Best Newcomer, Ethan & Gigi are “a pair of revolutionaries riddled with interpersonal issues but convinced they’re on the brink of an anti-fascist revolutionary movement. There are big, insane swings in this show that wears its brashness deceptively lightly; swings that you’re only likely to see at The Fringe” (The Skinny). Chortle founder/editor Steve Bennett writes, “...[Ethan & Gigi’s] commitment to the cause is unshakeable. The cause of being stupid, that is.” Written and directed with Iris McCloughan, assisted by Ella Leh.

“At every moment, THE MOVEMENT shrouds itself in glory and kicks itself in the nuts”
“...might be the single funniest thing I’ve ever seen.”
It’s a joy to watch … Vive THE MOVEMENT.”
Fest Mag, ★★★★

This absurd, bemusing, but ultimately pretty funny adventure was clearly the work of actors with both a passion for rebellion, and real uncertainty about what revolutionary life entails.”
The Scottish Review, ★★★★

“Ethan and Gigi’s commitment to the bit is what makes this faux so-bad-it’s-good comedy stand out from the rest.”
The Skinny, editor Louis Cammel for The Skinny-Fest Besties Awards

“Come the glorious revolution we will be without clothes just as we will be without rules.”
Chortle founder and editor Steve Bennett

"These kids are funny, brave, some of the hardest workers I've ever met and also might be legitimately unwell in a mental sense. Either way, huge fan. Restores my faith and makes me believe in the connective power of comedy." Chris Gethard (Career Suicide, The Chris Gethard Show)

"It’s theatre as provocation, theatre as mischief, theatre as a dare — and Ethan & Gigi are more than ready to break a few legs along the way." - Counter Culture UK
